(Persea gratissima (Avocado) Oil)
Avocado Oil is different from most oils because it is extracted from the flesh of the fruit as opposed to the seed or nut. Cold-pressed avocado oil retains most of the fruits rich nutrients and is high in monounsaturated fats like oleic acid and lecithin as well as vitamin A, D, E, and potassium.
Because avocado oil is rich in oleic acid and monounsaturated fat, it is actually one of the few oils which can penetrate the hair shaft and doesn’t just sit on top of the hair, feeling oily.
It is also non-comedogenic, meaning it doesn’t clog your pores. It’s a very lightweight oil and doesn’t cause build-up, which makes it an excellent oil for your hair and skin. It is able to quickly penetrate into the second layer of the skin (the dermis) and provide a deep moisturising treatment to the scalp as well.
Its also full of essential vitamins like Vitamin D, which is vital for the production of new hair follicles and acts as an antioxidant protecting your hair from environmental damage.
When massaged into the scalp, avocado oil can stimulate hair growth and nourish hair.
